Every research tool has a purpose and a boundary. This level explains what each of Pro Investor Academy's tools measures, what it cannot see, and how to use it as a starting point for judgment rather than a substitute for it. Access to the underlying research data follows your membership plan.
What you'll learn
- Read a Pro Investor score as an analytical summary, not a verdict
- Use risk intelligence to ask sharper questions rather than to forecast failure
- Distinguish durable business characteristics from recent reported trends
- Treat filing-based intelligence as evidence about the past, not the present
- Use screeners, signals and watchlists as research aids that never decide for you
- 7.1
Understanding Pro Investor Scores
The Pro Investor Score™ combines four measured components into one starting point for stock research — never a verdict or a prediction.
6 min - 7.2
Risk Intelligence
Risk Intelligence looks at the business's financial evidence; Price Risk looks at how much the share price has moved. Both sharpen questions — neither forecasts failure.
6 min - 7.3
Long-Term Potential and Fundamental Momentum
Long-term potential and fundamental momentum look at a business over two different time horizons — durable characteristics versus recent trend — and neither implies a price outcome.
7 min - 7.4
Pro Investor Intelligence
Filing-based intelligence brings together insider transactions, institutional activity and disclosures — always describing what has already happened.
7 min - 7.5
Screeners, Signals and Watchlists
A screener narrows a universe, signals flag conditions worth examining, and a watchlist is for patient observation — none of them decide for you.
6 min - 7.6
Building an Evidence-Based Investment Process
A repeatable sequence — Discover, Research, Compare, Evaluate Risk, Watch, Decide, Monitor — turns research habits into a disciplined, improvable process.

Interpreting a fictional research card
Skill: Reading scores, risk, dates and missing data on a Pro Investor Academy card
Fictional card for 'Northwind Grid Corp.', card date 2026-06-30 (the practice card introduced in Lesson 7.6).
| Pro Investor Score™ | 82 (fictional) |
|---|---|
| Risk Intelligence | High risk flag |
| Ownership data | 13F quarter ended 2026-03-31, filed 2026-05-15 |
| Fundamental Momentum | Missing — insufficient filings |
Worked through
- Score is not a verdict: 82 summarises the available evidence; it is not a recommendation or a forecast.
- Risk sits alongside: A high score with a high risk flag means strengths and a serious risk coexist; read both.
- Dates: Ownership reflects holdings as of 2026-03-31, three months before the card date.
- Missing data: Shown as missing, not zero; the score has less evidence behind it.
Limitation: Fictional card; real cards follow the same labels but their data changes.
Your turn
Check yourself against the rubric
- Treats the score as evidence summary, not advice
- Mentions the 13F lag and the missing component
