How to read the result
- A compound rate hides the path. Two companies with the same rate can have had completely different years.
- Use it on multi-year windows. Over one or two years it is noise dressed as a trend.
- Compare a company's revenue rate with its earnings and cash-flow rates; divergence is the interesting part.
What this calculator cannot tell you
- Past growth is a record, not a prediction of future growth.
- One unusual start or end year distorts the whole result.
- Arithmetic on the two values you enter, nothing else.
