Quality

56

of 100 · stored research reading

Stored Quality research reads 56 of 100, a middle-of-the-universe reading. The measurements behind it are mixed.

Quality research measures durability of the business itself from stored fundamentals: balance-sheet strength, profitability consistency and cash generation. It is a research reading, not a prediction of future returns.

How this is measured

Fundamental Momentum

Deteriorating

38

of 100 · stored research reading

Stored Fundamental Momentum research reads 38 of 100. Stored measurements classify recent reported fundamentals as deteriorating. This describes reported financial change already disclosed, with no forward-looking claim.

Fundamental Momentum research measures the direction of recently reported company fundamentals compared with the company's own history. It describes reported change, not future price movement.

How this is measured

Capital Returns

Weak

41

of 100 · stored research reading

Stored Capital Returns research reads 41 of 100, recorded as weak. No dividend is recorded for this company, so the reading rests on buybacks and dilution control. Share count has increased at about 10.9% a year in the stored window.

Capital Returns research measures how a company has actually returned cash to shareholders: dividend record, buyback effectiveness, dilution control and how those payments were funded.

What this company does

Janus International Group, Inc. ("we," "us," "Group," "Janus" or the "Company"), headquartered in Temple, Georgia with eleven domestic and three international manufacturing facilities is a leading global manufacturer, supplier, and provider of turn-key self-storage, commercial, and industrial building solutions including: roll up and swing doors, hallway systems, single- and multi-story steel buildings, building components, relocatable storage "MASS" (Moveable Additional Storage Structures) units, facility and door automation technologies, and trucking terminal renovation, construction, remodeling, and maintenance services. We are highly integrated with customers at every phase of a project, including facility planning/design, construction, access control, and the restoration, rebuilding, and replacement ("R3") of self-storage facilities. The self-storage industry is comprised of institutional and non-institutional facilities. Institutional facilities typically include multi-story, climate controlled facilities located in prime locations owned and/or managed by large real estate investment trusts ("REITs") or returns-driven operators of scale and are primarily located in the top 50 U.S. metropolitan statistical areas ("MSAs"), whereas the vast majority of non-institutional facilities are single-story, non-climate controlled facilities located outside of city centers owned and/or managed by smaller private operators that are mostly located outside of the top 50 U.S. MSAs.

Founded in 2002, we are a leading global manufacturer and supplier of turn-key self-storage, commercial, and industrial building solutions, including roll-up and swing doors, hallway systems, relocatable storage units, and facility and door automation technologies. Over the past 20 years, we have expanded our operations to serve several U.S. and international locations. Our common stock is listed and traded on the NYSE under the ticker symbol "JBI."

We believe the following competitive strengths have been instrumental in our growth and position us for continued success:

Strong Share in Growing, Well-Structured Markets. We serve the market for exterior and interior building solutions through both institutional REITs and non-institutional operators. REITs comprise approximately 35 to 40% of the overall self-storage market by square footage, and have grown significantly over the past decade and at a higher rate than the non-institutional market. Within the commercial industrial sector, we are a smaller participant within a larger addressable market, which provides us with significant opportunity for market share growth within a sector that is well positioned for future growth driven by the rising growth of e-commerce. We have achieved this success within the self-storage and commercial industrial sectors by being a full solution provider to our customers, providing expertise, and a full suite of products to solve our customers’ problems.
